The August groundbreaking will be presided over by Elder Hutch U. Fale.

New presidents and matrons of the Port Moresby Papua New Guinea and Port Vila Vanuatu temples have been called to serve by the First Presidency. They will begin their service when the temples are dedicated.

In a Church News video titled “The Temple Is Set Free,” construction workers and engineers explain recently completed seismic renovations.

Also, carpet was installed in the celestial room, and chandeliers now hang above the east baptismal font and other areas.

“We have a singular opportunity to help the world rejoice in Christ,” said President Dieter F. Uchtdorf.

The doors underwent careful restoration work over the past six years to meet the precise requirements of Church leaders.

While the work of the temple’s renovations has not all been easy, those involved have seen God’s guiding hand in the process.
